The Building Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood Education and Care Skill Set is designed for workers with existing experience or qualifications in early childhood education and care roles seeking to broaden their skills.
It has been created to support Educators, Coordinators, Managers and Directors with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure children feel comfortable and included in the early childhood learning environment.
Graduates of this program will learn the importance of supporting the inclusion of all children, recognising the significance of diversity, and enhancing development to achieve a positive learning experience for each individual child as well as implementing support strategies where required.
This skill set provides an excellent opportunity for childcare workers to increase their professional knowledge and workplace opportunities.

Students who successfully complete this skill set and wish to continue to further their study will be eligible for credit towards a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

Skill sets are a grouping of one or more competencies below the level of a full qualification. Skill sets help enable the performance of specific job tasks or functions. When competent in a skill set, students receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment that can be used for credit against a full qualification.
Yes. You will need to indicate that you are applying for credit transfer when enrolling. If you have completed a qualification or unit/s that are the exact units listed as part of the skill set, you will be required to provide a valid academic transcript or statement of attainment which shows competency in these units. Please note that Venture Education must validate all supporting documents with the previous training provider or via the USI registry before applying for the credit.

The duration to complete a skill set depends on several factors, including the number of units, previous qualifications and experience, and the unit requirements. The Team Leader Skill Set duration is 2-4 months, and the Building Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood Education and Care Skill Set duration is 3-6 months. If a student requires more time to complete, the student may apply for an extension. Please note that fees apply for any extensions.
