The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is the entry level qualification for anyone who wants to work in the childcare industry and gain employment in ACECQA approved early childhood services.
This qualification covers the fundamentals of early childhood development, education and care and reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework and promote children’s well-being, learning and development.
Graduates of this program will have the skills, knowledge and experience to support the development of relationships, learning and education with children, families and the community.

Study Pathways
Upon completion of this qualification, students are eligible to enrol into the CHC50121 - Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Students will gain credit for units achieved in the Certificate III qualification to go towards the Diploma
Vocational Placement
All students are required to be employed or volunteering in a regulated education and care service (ACECQA approved) to complete the practical components of this qualification.
All students are required to complete a minimum of 160 hours spread over the duration of their qualification and conduct placement with babies and toddlers under 2 years of age.
Venture Education may be able to support you with one of its industry partners to arrange this placement for you if you don’t have a service organised.

Frequently Asked Questions
Starting a career is such an exciting time! Venture Education supports students to find a service to complete their required vocational placement hours. However, students are encouraged to seek their own arrangements when it comes to their employment. Venture Education and their trainers have years of industry experience and can support students to prepare for gaining employment within the industry once the course has been completed.
Yes, your hours will count towards your vocational placement. If you can provide current evidence of the hours you have completed as an employee within a licenced long day care service these hours will count towards the required vocational placement hours. Evidence of these hours can be provided with a payslip. These hours will be verified by your trainer who will contact your service director.
The minimum age to enrol in a course with Venture Education is 15 years of age; please refer to each course overview for further information relating to other entry requirements. Age restrictions differ for students who are looking to undertake an apprenticeship or traineeship. The Child Employment Act states that the minimum age for apprentices and trainees is 13 years of age unless otherwise stated. Please feel free to contact us to discuss further.
Yes, all students will conduct an orientation and induction to their course with a Venture Education trainer. This is an integral part of your course in order to get you set up with your course materials, meet your trainer and ask any questions that you may have. Depending on your enrolment (i.e. traineeship, fee-for-service) and location, orientation can be conducted either over the phone/skype or in the workplace.
