Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be provided with job opportunities upon graduating?

Starting a career is such an exciting time! Venture Education supports students to find a service to complete their required vocational placement hours. However, students are encouraged to seek their own arrangements when it comes to their employment. Venture Education and their trainers have years of industry experience and can support students to prepare for gaining employment within the industry once the course has been completed.

I am already working in childcare; will my working hours count towards the vocational placement hours?

Yes, your hours will count towards your vocational placement. If you can provide current evidence of the hours you have completed as an employee within a licenced long day care service these hours will count towards the required vocational placement hours. Evidence of these hours can be provided with a payslip. These hours will be verified by your trainer who will contact your service director.

Is there a minimum or maximum age requirement?

The minimum age to enrol in a course with Venture Education is 15 years of age; please refer to each course overview for further information relating to other entry requirements. Age restrictions differ for students who are looking to undertake an apprenticeship or traineeship. The Child Employment Act states that the minimum age for apprentices and trainees is 13 years of age unless otherwise stated. Please feel free to contact us to discuss further.

Will I need to attend an orientation?

Yes, all students will conduct an orientation and induction to their course with a Venture Education trainer. This is an integral part of your course in order to get you set up with your course materials, meet your trainer and ask any questions that you may have. Depending on your enrolment (i.e. traineeship, fee-for-service) and location, orientation can be conducted either over the phone/skype or in the workplace.
