Entry Requirements

Entry to this qualification is open to educators who hold:

CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or the superseded CHC30121 or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

 

Individuals may now enrol if they hold a Certificate III in Children’s Services.

AND have either;

At least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia, with evidence to support this, 

OR alternatively, complete the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care skill set.

And have an appropriate level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills as required per the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level.
A valid Blue Card is required before starting vocational placement in Queensland.

Study Pathways

Upon completion of this qualification, students may be eligible for credit in Early Childhood Teaching qualifications at specific universities. Students also have the ability to progress to CHC62015 - Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management to further develop their management and leadership skills and to expand into higher management positions within the childcare or community services sector.


What vocational placement is required?

Students must complete a minimum of 280 hours of vocational placement in a regulated education and care service over the duration of the qualification. Before starting placement, students must hold a valid Blue Card and complete the applicable National Child Safety Training. Venture Education will confirm any service or age-group requirements before placement begins.

You must be employed or volunteering in an ACECQA-approved service to complete the practical components. If you do not have a suitable service organised, Venture Education may be able to help you explore placement opportunities through its industry partners; availability cannot be guaranteed.
